San Francisco, I'm baaaaack!

Bravie's OT account of the my peep meet with her and Sharnina:
"Sanjana must be a big fan of the Bay area because he requested another trip here. This time he had a Friday night dinner with Sharnina and Bravie.
Here are the three prior to ordering their meal. See how happy they are?

Bravie and Sharnina really hit it off. I think the proof is here, where Bravie was feeding Sharnina some Lemon Chicken.

Unfortunately, this made Sanjana a bit jealous. So he decided to pout for a bit.

After the pouting was over, everybody made nice and they posed for an after dinner picture.

I'll admit that I was a little nervous about meeting Sharnina because we had not had any contact prior to our meet. We spoke on the phone for about an hour before we met for dinner which helped a lot. As soon as we met at the restaurant we hugged and immediately started to chat and it felt as if we had already known each other. The conversation flowed so easily and yes, we talked about you and you and you. *grin*
The staff really got a kick out of Sanjana. They acted as if they had never seen a two foot inflatable banana in their establishment. One of the waiters even asked if he could sign Sanjana. Sadly though, that seemed to be the most attention that Sanjana got because Sharnina (or should I say Sharnia? *giggle*, she knows what I am talking about ) and I were so involved in our conversation. We spent so much time talking that we didn't even pay attention as the staff was closing down the place. *giggle* We just continued to chat away as the staff sat for their end of the night meal.
Sharnina is just wonderful. We found out that even though we sit on different sides of the fence on many issues, that at the core, we still had a lot in common. It reinforced my belief that people, no matter their political and religious beliefs, can and do get along and can and do become friends. It's amazing how a message board and two foot inflatable banana can bring together people who would otherwise never get to know each other. I believe I have made a new friend in Sharnina and am grateful for our wonderful meet. I can't wait until we are able to get together again. Thanks for such an enjoyable night, Sharnina.
See? I didn't post the picture of you dancing on the table for dollar bills."

I feel I need to point out a couple of things. I was *not* pouting, I was listening. Besides, who could get a word in edgewise? Do you notice that no one offered to feed me? All I have in front of me is a pot of hot tea. Hot tea? I'm plastic! Bravie was trying to melt me!

But I do enjoy the Bay area, and may have to make plans for more trips to the west coast soon.

More of my visit with HD, as told by HD

I spent a good portion of my day editing the first chapter of my dissertation, but that did not stop Sanjana from making himself at home at my place.

Of course, he didn't really have to entertain himself. George III was here all day, so the two of them got to hang out together.

Sanjana decided that the first thing he needed to do this morning was work off some calories. I guess that he had one too many cheesesteaks while I was at my seminar the other day. He did hit the Yuengling pretty hard too.

After he finished his workout, I caught him at a rather delicate moment in the shower. Usually just snapping the photo would have been torture enough, but he was so crabby about it that I flushed the toilet just so he could cool off for a moment.

Since he was so shy about the shower, I was surprised when he sprawled out on the rug in front of the fireplace. I really do not want to know where online he posts his special banana profile.

After he was done messing around, he went outside to enjoy the sunshine. My neighbor was working in her garden, which prompted Sanjana to help out with some of the landscaping that needs to be done in my front yard. Here he is hard at work.

Although he was willing to help out with the bushes and flowers, he absolutely refused to mow the lawn, no matter how much it needed a trim.

I took a break from working so we could eat lunch together. I would have been content to keep it fairly informal, but Sanjana insisted on eating in the dining room and breaking out the cloth napkins.

Between the food and working in the yard, he was ready for a nap in the afternoon. I just left him alone while I ran an errand over to the library.

After he woke up, he decided to catch up on his blogging. (I noticed that he cleared the history on the browser before he let me use the computer again, though he did mutter something about a unicorn website that Arkie told him about.)

Right now he is anxiously awaiting the "Survivor" finale. He has his spot in the living room all staked out. He even grabbed a bottle of whiskey from the pantry to make it bearable as Jiffy murders the English language by pretending that the word "tribal" is a noun. He's just going to be crushed if Yauman doesn't win.

Hopefully some evening this week I will have some time to take Sanjana out to see more of Baltimore instead of hanging out in Oakenshawe the whole time he is here.

My visit with HD, as told by HD

Sanjana Banana arrived yesterday just before I left for a seminar at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies in Philadelphia. Rather than be a bad host and leave Sanjana alone to entertain himself, I let him ride shotgun and tag along. He decided he was shy and did not want to meet my friends and colleagues, but he did get out of the car to do some sightseeing before I came home today.

Here is Sanjana behind the Pennsylvania State House, commonly known as Independence Hall. He enjoyed seeing the building where the founders debated the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. He confessed that he hopes that sometime soon their vision of freedom and equality for all will be entirely fulfilled as he would like to meet and spend his life with a nice banana.

He so enjoyed Independence Hall that he leaned against a wall across the street so he could continue to enjoy it a little longer, but a little bit away from the watchful eyes of the park rangers.

He decided to check out a few other buildings near Independence Hall. Here he is outside the Second Bank of the United States. It's a nineteenth-century building (built between 1819 and 1824), so really too modern for either of our taste, but still a fine specimen of Greek Revival architecture in America.

A nice couple saw us admiring the Bank and debating whether to go in to view the portrait gallery. They offered to take our photo together. In the end, we decided to save the exhibit for another time.

Sanjana just had to see Carpenters' Hall. The First Continental Congress met here when it convened in September 1774. Sanjana told me that the building served as a hospital and an arsenal during the Revolutionary War. The banana has a healthy appreciation of early American history.

He insisted that I get a closer shot so he could show off his glorious yellow features --- and that beautiful fanlight window above the door.

I think that Sanjana most enjoyed posing with the statue of Robert Morris, the financier of the American Revolution. Once again demonstrating his knowledge of early America, Sanjana told me that George Washington wanted to appoint Morris as the first Secretary of the Treasury, but he turned it down and suggested Alexander Hamilton instead. Sanjana has good taste: this guy had money plus he looked fabulous in that hat and coat. (I didn't have the heart to remind him that Morris lost what was left of his fortune when he dabbled in land speculation after the Revolution and eventually died in poverty.)

Sanjana and I are back in Baltimore now. He is taking a nap at the moment, but I will keep everybody updated of his further adventures.

Me and Boo and motormouth, too

I thought this was going to be a repeat of the Cleveland visit, where I get left out in the car. But after a while, Boo came to get me so I could meet motormouth. We were at some place called Peet's. I'm not much for coffee, so the place wasn't all that to me. Some man in the shop kept looking at us (mostly me) and as Boo was holding me in her lap, she said to the guy, "I'm just happy to see you". The guy couldn't stop giggling! After we chatted for a while, we decided to take a look around the area. First, here is the picture of us at Peet's with an intrigued worker.

One thing about this tour, I'm getting to meet some nice looking young guys. I think Boo is using me in order to meet them.

Boo and motormouth found a neat little "Family Park" nearby, and went to check it out. We found some huge rocking horses! Boo shoved a kid off this one, so we could ride it together. She said it was very important that the blue on me match the blue horse. Motormouth made a remark about it being very "Bree" like, and then rolled her eyes.

Boo and motormouth wanted to play hide and seek next. I found what I thought was the coolest hiding place, here in the Dippin' Dots freezer. It took them a while to find me. Fortunately, I didn't suffer from any freezer burn. Then we made like a banana and split. Get it? Banana? Split? I crack myself up.

San Francisco is so a-peeling

A-peeling, get it? I'm a banana, and you peel bananas! Bwahahahaha!

Anyway, after Boo and I left Cleveland *waves to Jen* *waves to cute guy with belt buckle*, we got back on a plane and headed to SF. I got to meet Bravie and Weltek. Here's a group shot of the four of us.

Here's another one of Weltek trying to let an elephant eat me. Ha! Joke was on her, it wasn't a real elephant.

Bravie, you did know that wasn't a real elephant, right?

I didn't get to hang out with them for long, because they wanted to go for drinks, and I'm underage. *pouts* Whatever. Lushes.

I did have one more peep meet, but I'm waiting on permission to post pics from there. I'm also hoping Boo will send me some more pics that I can post.

Cleveland Rocks!

Well, I guess I should say that the parking lot of the Olive Garden in Middleburg Heights rocks. That's all that I saw of Cleveland. I left with Samboohoo on a flight to Las Vegas, but we stopped in Cleveland to meet up with SilverStar. Man, those girls sure are chatty! They left me in the car while they went and had dinner, but once they were done they finally freed me from my envelope and blew me up. (That Boo sure does have nice lips. She gives a good blow job. Whut?)

Apparently neither of them had thought to bring a marker so they could sign me. Star had a pen in her purse so they signed me with that. It was a little too pointy. I think they might have bruised me.

We were all short on time because Boo and I had to get back to the airport, but we did manage to snap a few pics before we left.

Here is our photographer, such a nice young man. Hey, cool belt buckle!

Star, Me and Boo

Here's a pic of Boo and Star. I'm there, too! just look in the reflection of Boo's shades. :)

After we took the pics, it was time for me to be deflated once again and stuffed back in my envelope. That's ok. I'm looking forward to Vegas, where I bet Boo will blow me up again. *wink wink*

Sanjana, out!
